Dr. R.K. Srivastava

Dr R.K. Srivastava has been associated with Max Super-Speciality Hospital, Patparganj as the Head and Senior Consultant, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, since December 2005 till date. He is the Founding Director of Reconnect Neuropsychiatry and Child Guidance Clinic, SurajmalVihar and Noida, NCR. This clinic provides complete mental health care in the forms of neuropsychiatry, child guidance, behavioural aid for adult, child and geriatric population.

Dr R.K. Srivastava completed his MBBS from Meerut and further obtained his DNB (Psychiatry) from IHBAS, New Delhi. Additionally, he completed his CCST from the United Kingdom. Having been in practise for 18 years makes him extremely well equipped to deal with a myriad of psychiatric problems.

Dr Srivastava is empathetic, open-minded and non-judgemental. He is a great listener and creates a warm, comfortable and safe space which promotes understanding, respect and communication. He is an avid promoter of destigmatizing mental illnesses and publicising different ways to overcome them.

Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry along with De-addiction and Rehabilitation have been his areas of interest for which he has attended and chaired many national and international conferences. Additionally, Relationship Issues has been an area pertaining to which Dr Srivastava has worked extensively and which is very close to his heart.

Dr Srivastava’s career began as an intern and later, as a DNB student and Senior Resident at the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, DilshadGraden, Delhi starting in October, 1996. Following this, he has been actively involved in the field, holding training workshops for various professionals, chairing conferences, being a part of various research projects and speciality clinics. He is a great orator and has been invited to deliver lectures at different prestigious schools, colleges, institutes and conferences.

His brilliant work in the field of psychiatry has also attracted many regional and national Television Channels who have invited him for different TV shows and interviews relating to mental health (India TV, AajTak, NDTV India, Star News, Sahara Samay, CNN-IBN, IBN 7, DD). He has also been asked to share his thoughts and opinions on Mental Health in India and otherwise, through various newspapers (HT, TOI, DainikJagraan and Amar Ujjala) and magazines (India Today, Mint Magazine, Mail Today, Today Magazine, HT Brunch, Readers Digest).

He has also been writing columns for newspapers and magazines.
